Norman Mineta is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mineta & Associates, LLC. Prior to establishing Mineta & Associates, Secretary Mineta served as Vice Chairman of Hill & Knowlton. Secretary Mineta served under President George W. Bush as the Secretary of Transportation from 2001 to 2006 and as Secretary of Commerce from 2000 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. As Secretary of Transportation he coordinated the creation of the Transportation Security Administration. Secretary Mineta was Vice President of Lockheed Martin from 1995 to 2000. He represented California's 13th and 15th Districts in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1995 and was Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee from 1993 to 1995. Prior to his Congressional career, he served as Mayor of San Jose from 1971 to 1975. Secretary Mineta is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the U.S., and the Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy, awarded for significant public service of enduring value to aviation in the United States. Secretary Mineta earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
